Project Experience
Gas & Diesel Fuel Contaminated SiteChallenge
A former gasoline service center released gasoline and diesel fuel into the soil and groundwater. Petroleum impacts exceeded State regulatory cleanup levels. AcuityES was asked to assess, delineate, and remediate residual petroleum impacts at the facility.
Action
Historical investigations were augmented with up to date investigation findings and both soil and groundwater were delineated to Agency approval. An Agency-approved Corrective Action Plan (CAP) was developed and implemented at the Site. The CAP specified the excavation of impacted soils and the subsequent long term monitoring of groundwater to document monitoring natural attenuation (MNA) plume stability.
Results
Approximately 2,200 tons of petroleum impacted soil was excavated from the site. Confirmation soil sampling documents the cleanup of soils to State regulatory cleanup objectives. Three quarters of long term groundwater monitoring documents that residual petroleum impacts in groundwater are at concentrations below State regulatory cleanup objectives.
